TALK management recommends Roger Bootle as an After Dinner Speaker, Keynote Conference Speaker, and Business Speaker.

Roger Bootle is one of the City of London`s best-known economists. As well as being Managing Director of Capital Economics, he is also Economic Adviser to Deloitte, a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee. Roger Bootle was formerly Group Chief Economist at HSBC, one of the largest banking and financial services groups in the world. Under the last Conservative government, he was appointed a member of the Chancellor`s Panel of Independent Economic Forecasters the so-called Wise Men. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Roger Bootle studied at Oxford University and then became a Lecturer in Economics at St Anne’s College, Oxford. Most of his subsequent career has been spent in the City of London.

Roger Bootle has written many articles and books on monetary economics. Including Money for Nothing - Real Wealth, Financial Fantasies and the Economy of the Future. This follows the success of The Death of Inflation, published in 1996, which became a best-seller and was subsequently translated into nine languages. Initially dismissed as extreme, The Death of Inflation is now widely recognised as prophetic. Roger is also joint author of the book Theory of Money, and author of Index Linked Gilts. He has a new book out in the autumn of 2009, The Trouble with Markets in which he explores the deep origins of the current financial crisis and the consequences for economies, markets and politics, both domestic and international.

He is a regular columnist for The Sunday Telegraph and a well-known broadcaster on both radio and television. He is a popular speaker at corporate events speaking on topics relating to Business, Economics and Finance.

Larry Elliot, economics editor of The Guardian wrote, `it seems strange that no place has yet been found on the MPC for Roger Bootle, one of the country`s leading monetary economists.`.
