Barry Cryer’s professional comedy debut was at the Leeds City Varieties Theatre whist still a student at Leeds University; but his work soon led him to the Windmill Theatre in London, a legendary school for comedians, whose graduates include Sir Harry Secombe and Peter Sellers.

The King of the One Liners has written material for all the comedy greats including: Bob Hope, George Burns, The Two Ronnies, Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Kenny Everett, Bruce Forsythe, David Frost, Mike Yarwood, Rory Bremner, Jasper Carrott and winning copious awards along the way.

Some of his credits include: Cryer’s Crackers, Stand Up and the award winning Radio 4, I’m Sorry I haven’t A Clue. His autobiography You Won’t Believe This But…. Was published in 1998 with Barry performing extracts on radio 4 to great acclaim.
