Barrie Hall regularly performs stand up comedy and appears regularly on TV and radio. He does newspaper review slots for SKY News and the ITV News Channel. Most recently he was in the Channel 4 comedy series ‘Experimental’. At present he is writing a sitcom called `Treading Water`.

Equally at home performing extended stand up sets or working as compere, he has performed in most of the major comedy clubs in the UK, and many abroad, and has performed at the Edinburgh Festival.

Barrie Hall has co-presented with Sandi Toksvig on LBC radio. He has guested on the Paul Ross show and the Brian Hayes show (both LBC). He appears regularly on stations including BBC Five Live (Edwina Currie, Richard Bacon), London Live (Vanessa Feltz) and BBC Radio Scotland (Fred MacAuley). In print, he has written for the Independent and Sunday Sun.

As writer and performer Barrie appeared in Show me the Funny, a 16-part sketch show on Channel 4’s entertainment channel E4. He appeared in BBC 1’s entertainment series ‘Spy TV’. Other TV work includes a sitcom Mad Mack (Channel 4) and Molotov Cocktail, a sketch series for the Paramount Comedy Channel.

Barrie Hall grew up in a pit village in the north east – a bit like Billy Elliot but without the ballet. He learned to fly a plane at 17 and was going to become a RAF pilot but was too tall to fit into the cockpit. He has a degree in psychology which he puts to good use working in the media.
