Riz Lateef is currently presenting the BBC’s London News, having previously been a reporter and news presenter with for the BBC’s regional programme Look North. She has also presented BBC Breakfast News.
Riz Lateef’s other television credits include reporting for BBC1’s Holiday from Balboa, Spain and Lake Garda in Italy. Riz was the featured News Presenter on the Dawn French Series Wild West. In 2000, she presented the BBC2 documentary From Coup to Coup about the political state of Pakistan following General Musharraf’s military coup to power.
Prior to her on-screen television career Riz Lateef worked in the BBC for three years as a Business Adviser to the Director of Television, being named as one of the television industry’s ‘young hotshots’ by Broadcast magazine.
Riz Lateef has hosted a number of corporate events, she facilitated the Pan-London Faith Event 2006 which brought together faith groups from around London working with the problem of drug use. She hosted a panel debate with the Minister for Drugs, Paul Goggins, London’s Regional Crime Director Roger King and Vic Hogg from the Home Office’s Drug Strategy Directorate. She has also presented Web Casts for BP including hosting presentations for their Exploration & Production Business. Other credits include hosting the Teachers Awards at the Guildhall in London.
She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, with written Arabic and basic French.
